In the Pink

Retail Therapy!

It's an overcast Sunday here in southern England, and instead of doing all the holiday work I should be getting down to, I've been shopping, chattering, doing art, watching obscene amounts of cult films I'd never seen before (Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You...)
I went on a badly timed shopping trip on Friday, to Reading, which was the same time as the Reading festival is on. It was certainly a little busier than anticipated! We'd been on a trip to find my sister's uniform, as she heads off to Sixth Form to study for her A-Levels. Meanwhile, I'd had my eye on a particular brand of lipstick which I'd seen in Space NK. This brand is Lipstick Queen, the website of which can be seen here: www.lipstickqueen.com (check out their Instagram, too!)and  is available at Space NK and John Lewis. What had always caught my eye in Space NK was the beautiful packaging- an aspect I particularly liked for my purchase is the Chinese writing on the back. The Jumbo pencil, too, caught my eye, and it transpires that Lipstick Queen was the first brand to create a Jumbo glossy pencil. The product in question is the Chinatown lip pencil, pictured below in the shade 'Crime'.It's both a lip pencil, lip gloss and lip balm. It's very glossy, and whilst being bright in colour it's a discreet, sheer shade which means it's not overpowering. Since it doubles up as a lip balm, too, it lips moisturised and healthy. As if this lipstick couldn't get any cooler, designer Poppy King used some Hollywood inspiration to create it. The box design and shade names are inspired by Roman Polanski's film 'Chinatown'.

The next item I bought, I hadn't been planning on buying. However, I'd seen photos of online. This is the trend of matte nail polish, so when I saw this when browsing the Topshop makeup stand, I couldn't resist.  It's a lovely colour and the packaging is really cool as well.At £6 it is a great buy, and a lot cheaper than other matte polishes available.

Hope you enjoyed that selection of pink goodies and hope to see you later!
